The American Lawyer and Law.com subsequently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/americanlawyer\/2021\/01\/04\/midwest-merger-push-continues-in-2021-as-dinsmore-announces-acquisition\/?kw=Midwest%20Merger%20Push%20Continues%20in%202021%20As%20Dinsmore%20Announces%20Acquisition&amp;utm_source=email&amp;utm_medium=enl&amp;utm_campaign=newsroomupdate&amp;utm_content=20210104&amp;utm_term=tal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">published an article<\/a> about where the merger fits into the greater trend of legal consolidation in the Midwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Midwest has become an attractive acquisition target for Big Law lately, with Dinsmore &amp; Shohl\u2019s acquisition of an Indianapolis firm this week and Dentons\u2019 deal with an Iowa firm. In the latest deal, Dinsmore, ranked No. 119 in the Am Law 200, said Monday it had acquired 47-attorney firm Wooden McLaughlin which has offices in three Indiana cities.<br><br>The merger, finalized Jan. 1, puts Cincinnati-headquartered Dinsmore in the Hoosier State for the first time. The deal adds to a growing list of firms that have put down roots or expanded in the Midwest over the last year or so.
