Rios III has successfully defended a significant courtroom victory for Secured Capital Limited Partnership and El Dorado Properties Inc. Following an April 2023 trial win, the Plaintiff appealed, but George secured a decisive appellate ruling affirming the judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the trial win, the clients were awarded costs and attorneys\u2019 fees, and with this latest victory, they may now amend their award to include fees and costs incurred during the appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At trial in April of 2023, George and partner John Mayers, learned the court granted the clients\u2019 motion for nonsuit on the fifth day of trial\u2014confirming there was insufficient evidence for the case to proceed. The dispute arose from a commercial lease and the Plaintiff\u2019s eviction following an unlawful detainer action. After being lawfully removed from the property, the Plaintiff pursued claims of misrepresentation, concealment, and breach of contract, seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as attorneys\u2019 fees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
