In collaboration with Tony Long, General Counsel of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Dinsmore attorneys Richik Sarkar and Jenna Pletcher recently filed an amicus<\/em> brief before the Supreme Court of Ohio in Wilson Energy, LLC, et al. v. Redbird Development, LLC, et al.<\/em>, Ohio Supreme Court Case No. 2025-0029. The brief supports a transformative change in Ohio\u2019s pleading standards, advocating for adopting the heightened \u201cplausibility\u201d standard currently employed by federal courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This effort represents a significant step toward aligning Ohio\u2019s judicial system with modern legal practices, enhancing judicial efficiency and fostering economic growth. The proposed standard would require plaintiffs to demonstrate that their claims have a plausible basis, helping to reduce frivolous litigation and its associated burdens on litigants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
