Gerdes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Lindsay co-chairs Dinsmore\u2019s White Collar Defense &amp; Government Investigations practice group.&nbsp; She is an experienced trial attorney, a former federal and state prosecutor, and a trusted advisor.&nbsp; Lindsay has tried over 20 jury trials to verdict as lead counsel.&nbsp; She recently obtained acquittals in a high-profile federal case, earning praise from peers, observers, and the judge.&nbsp; Lindsay\u2019s practice is focused on representing companies and senior executives in investigations, sensitive matters, corporate crises, litigation, and other disputes involving the federal and state government enforcement agencies.&nbsp; Lindsay solves some of the clients\u2019 most sensitive problems, including ones stemming from civil enforcement actions, criminal investigations, and regulatory probes. She advises clients on a wide range of issues, including those touching on financial crimes, securities laws, health care fraud, environmental offenses, and corruption-related issues.&nbsp; Lindsay also handles Title IX hearings, arbitrations, and complex civil litigation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lindsay\u2019s success for her clients goes beyond the courtroom.&nbsp; She has dissuaded prosecutors from bringing charges on numerous occasions, successfully conducted internal investigations, and negotiated favorable resolutions with regulators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among her recent experiences, Lindsay:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Obtained acquittals of the most serious 11 counts in an alleged $93 million health care fraud scheme, cross-examining over a dozen witnesses, including the government\u2019s experts, and delivering the summation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secured full dismissal of criminal charges against physician charged with sex-related offense;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Persuaded U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office not to bring charges against pharmacist in a health care fraud investigation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Negotiated an NPA for national healthcare company under criminal investigation for visa fraud;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Negotiated a career-saving misdemeanor disposition for a financial advisor with $1 billion of assets under management, and represent other broker-dealers in SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory investigations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Negotiated misdemeanor disposition in EPA investigation for business owner facing allegations of conduct resulting in wildlife death;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtained favorable result in a confidential Title IX matter;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigated clients through simultaneous civil litigation, SEC investigations, and DOJ criminal actions, including company executives and funds;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secured rare win on a motion to reduce a client\u2019s term of federal supervised release, cutting his court-ordered supervision in half;\u00a0and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Efficiently conducted internal investigations and narrowed subpoena and civil investigative demands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining Dinsmore, Lindsay had a successful career as a prosecutor. As an award-winning Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York for seven years, Lindsay investigated and prosecuted some of the highest profile cases in one of the premier prosecutors\u2019 offices in the country.&nbsp; Her investigations included matters related to complex business, bank, and securities fraud, money laundering, bribery &#8211; including violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act &#8211; tax and mortgage fraud, obstruction of justice, and racketeering.&nbsp; Lindsay\u2019s work has been featured in major news publications and media outlets, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Bloomberg, CNN, and NBC News.
