Sarah is a civil litigator who focuses her practice on commercial, banking, and consumer finance litigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She represents large companies, small businesses, and individuals in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference, and breach of fiduciary duty. Sarah also defends businesses and financial institutions against consumer finance claims arising under the FDCPA and the FCRA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her litigation experience includes negotiating pre-suit resolution, preparing and responding to discovery requests, drafting and responding to dispositive motions, negotiating settlement, and preparing for and going to trial. Sarah has prepared motions in limine, coordinated expert and lay witnesses, and organized and prepared evidence for trial. Sarah has also second chaired a two-week jury trial in which she helped secure a full defense verdict for a client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sarah spends a significant portion of her practice advising a Pittsburgh-based national bank on court ordered processes, including its processing of subpoenas and garnishments, to ensure compliance with federal and state law. This role has led her to the invaluable experience of serving as in-house counsel for this client while on secondment. Because of Sarah\u2019s in-house experience, she is able to better understand and anticipate her clients\u2019 business needs and concerns and the challenges to their daily operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During law school, Sarah was a judicial intern for Judge Marilyn J. Horan of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and, later, a summer associate at Dinsmore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sarah currently volunteers as a peer mentor for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers, and she has an active pro bono practice, representing indigent citizens in the clearing of their criminal records.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
